DIY Laptop

So.. recently I've been wondering to do now that my custom 3d printer is finished (mostly). I think I've found an idea - a laptop. Why? A few reasons, mostly because the hardware to do this in a decent form factor is now available and because no one has really done this successfully before. I'll first be 3d printing a case then milling on my high school's CNC machines and mills. I've explored both the traditional laptop and Microsoft Surface style form factors, and I think I'm leaning towards a Surface-style device. Of course, it wouldn't be as powerful, thin, or reliable as an OEM product, but it would be sweet. I've also looked at a portable All in One idea, with full desktop components, but that would be a bit more hunky.

Specs:
- UDOO x86 board (Pentium 2.56 ghz, 8gb ram)
- must be x86
- Windows 10 (or linux)
- Laptop screen replacement for screen

Originally I would be building with low end components for a proof of concept.
Any critiques would be greatly appreciated!

You can get an octa core tablet with windows & android on it cheap enough.
