TrueSpace 7.6.1B Beginner Question
September 22, 2009 07:38AM
Hi, just a quick question, does TrueSpace have a tool for measuring models in mm or cm? Or is there another way of working out the size a model will be when printed?

Thanks in advanced, just getting to grips with it.

... it's an issue with other programs too eye rolling smiley - i design a box with e.g. dimension of 10x10x10, export as STL, import in the fabber-host and measure there ...

Just an idea, but if someone made a ruler model in .stl format then verified that it printed the correct size. Would this model then be able to be loaded into any 3D editor and used as an accurate scale to build new models by?

I may try this myself, but will be waiting at least a month till I can get a reprap kit.
Anyone else done this or know of such a measuring model?

True, but its one extra step once, to avoid having to perform a size test once with each model printed.
Cant seem to find anything like that on the internet yet, though I may be using the wrong keywords. I think I'll try and make a model when I get my kit near the end of next month.
