Newbie filament and j-head question
March 09, 2015 08:53PM
Sorry if this has been asked before but I think I made a big mistake when putting together my Wades Extruder with a J-Head MK IV-B hot end.

I assumed I could use 1.75mm filament but it keeps clogging. Now I am wondering if my liner is not supposed to take 1.75 mm filament.

The 1.75mm filament is not snug in the liner and now I am thinking that's because the liner is only for 3mm filament. It's hard to measure but the inside diameter is more than 2 mm.

Can someone confirm that the inner diameter of the liner has to match the filament? Or can i use 3mm and 1.75 mm filament on the same hot end?

It is very important that the inliner matches the filament diameter. You experience exactly what happens when it does not match.
