method of cooling extruded filament

Hi, I would like to propose a way of cooling filament after it exits the extruder, see picture.
Benefits are: no or very low pulling force on the hot side, so no deformation on hot filament, good cooling performance, after one turn around the aluminium cooling drum abs is hardened. The filament is hardened in a curled manner, so no problem collecting the filament . The cold end can be pulled strongly the force does not really matter, as long as you fix the drum thorougly. Take care that the puller motor is able to stall (overcurrent protection) the result is a stable diameter of the extruded filament.
This methode works ok if there are 4 turns around the drum, so there is a startup procedure with some scrap filament. cut it up en feed it again to the extruder.
Hope this is helpful to someone .

Nice mod, looks like it saves some space.
What did you use for the drum.

The drum is the bottle of a paintspray gun, but i think any aluminium drum can be used, as long as its smooth so the filament can slide over it.

Is the drum rolling? Seems like it would work well for pultruding fiber impregnated filament.
