Mig welding contact tip

Hi there, I'm a newbie to the forums. I was looking at some extruder nozzle photos and wondered if a .023" mig welding contact tip could be used as a nozzle to screw into a heater block and barrell. Seems to me that they would be far more available and cost only pennies a glass. Thoughts, criticisms, hilarious anecdotes?

The smallest ones have a 0.7 mm bore, which is a bit big, isn't it? Other than that: try it!

maybe a hit with a hammer could make the nozzle diameter smaller
