Braille Printer design schematic
February 01, 2012 02:34PM
I am in the process of building a Prusa like 3D printer in the TVRepRap group, and for various reasons a Braille Printer came to mind when I read that commercial such printers are very expensive. Good value I am sure but I know if was blind I would be pretty careful with my budget.

Many of the techniques and processes for my 3D printer are useful I believe for an economical Braille printer, so I considered as many aspects and details as I could at this stage, and I wanted to put this information up somewhere useful to encourage others who may be able to use their resources faster than I can. I have a family member with failing sight but they are not yet needing to use braille.

I attach here a design schematic in open office / libre office drawing file.
I would be happy to answer any questions and to help further any subsequent work.

(meanwhile, I have not yet built my 3D printer....)

This is being discussed in my local tvreprap group so I thought a link might be useful (googlegroups)
