Tool 0 not driven because of a heater fault
March 19, 2017 09:16PM
Whenever I upload a file to print The print head moves but the extruder will not. It says Warning: Tool 0 was not driven because its heater temperatures were not high enough or it has a heater fault. The heater temps are stable at the set temp and the heater shows active not fault. I am sure it is a setting I have set wrong but I can't find it. I sliced it with KISSlicer.

Edit: To correct title typo

Your config.g should have two lines for Thermistor and Heater definition

M305 P1 T100000 B3950 R4700 H0 L0	; Thermistor 1

M563 P0 D0 H1 ; Define tool 0

Do yours look the same? Which fw-version do you use?

Are you certain that the temperature stabilised at the set point? Was the heater in a fault state? See [duet3d.com] for how to avoid heating faults.

Yes the temp was stabilized with no fault. The heater displayed active. I have done the procedure on duet.com.
The extruder will work if I enable cold extrusion. So it's a setting I'm sure.

Edit clarification.

Most likely there was a "temperature excursion too large" error. See [reprap.org] for how to increase the allowed excursion.

I figured it out. I redid the tuning on the hot-end apparently it was off. Also I switched out the cyclops for the chimera and changed the bowden tube. Turns out the tube I was using was a little small on the inside and of a low quality.
