DUET MILL LASER 3DPRINTER

I would like to find out if the Duet can do subtractive CNC MIlling and Control a laser head

No reason why it cant control any CNC

The Duet is already being used to control laser engravers. The M572 M571 command is useful for this, see [reprap.org].

Disclosure: I design Duet electronics and work on RepRapFirmware, [duet3d.com].

You mean M571 and not M572 (indeed you link to M571) ? which may turn on a laser or a router.
It is indicated in the wiki that M571 turn on an output, but what output ? How is it designated ?
If using a controlled fan output, is it still possible to define parameters (and notably PWM frequency) with M106 ?

M572 may be the best for a laser, as laser start instantly, but for a router, you shall start a few seconds prior to movement, a bit more if using a HF spindle, which needs heat up time.
In principle for router/mill operation, spindle is run by M3/M5 with RPM speed as parameter. M3 is implemented in RRF only if Roland Mill compatibility is activated.
Maybe they shall start a macro ? But how to pass a parameter to a macro ?
