I would like to update to the latest firmware (w/ linear advance) while retaining my original configuration. what is the process? I have changed the existing FW several times but never an update. Using Ramps 1.4, Mega 2560 in a 3yo Robo 3D

The best thing to do is use a visual diff program to compare your old configuration files against the new ones. It is not safe to just drop the old files in place with the new files.
