Marlin PID temperature control code isolation
December 20, 2016 09:24AM
Hello all reprapers!

I'm currently working on a project where I need to control the temperature of a metal block using a 40w cartridge heater and 100k thermistor. at the moment I am using an arduino mega, a ramps board and a smart discount controller.

This is OK in the fact that the PID in marlin works so well but I have far too much kit going on and need to shave it down.

I would like to isolate the PID code which controls the temperature of the hot end so that I can just run this on an arduino uno with the few components in the thermistor & cartridge heater circuits and from the serial monitor.

I notice the file temparature.h and thermistor.h and some code in configuration.h relating to them but I'm not sure how to go about isolationg it into 1 simple script.

All help will be appreciated massively, I'm a mechanical engineer but coding is not my strong point.

Many thanks Guys!

Oscar
