Can the LCD be adjusted
December 01, 2017 07:48PM
Once I fried up my RepRap Prusa_i3 I noticed that I could not read the LCD unless I looked from a side angle of about 80 degrees. Later I got a Tronxy and was surprised to see how easy it was to read the LCD. I noticed on the back of my RepRap LCD there is a pot that is labeled cont(rast) + .. -. Being a chicken, I did not try to adjust it (yet). Looking for advice... Might this improve the visibility of the screen?

DO it!! I honestly don't know, but I would absolutely be adjusting it.

An image must have the proper brightness and contrast for easy viewing.

Contrast is the difference in brightness between objects. An example,
White rabbit running across a snowy yard has poor contrast.
Black dog against the same snowy yard has good contrast.

The LCD has what we call a back light that is actually LEDs and their brightness can be adjusted by a pot and on the graphic LCD displays its of the top of the board near rotary knob or pushbuttons. On 16x2 bare LCDs there are two pins for backlight power connections to power and control brightness. TURN THE POT
