Z-Probe Compatibility Question
May 14, 2017 07:49AM
Hello RepRappers,

I'm new to the maker scene and very excited to be here. I ordered a DIY Prusia i3 clone (Tronxy P802-MA v.07) and have had a fun time usiung it. I've installed a glass bed over the aluminum one, and my inductive sensor is now proving unreliable. I'm a little overwhelmed in the electronics area as a noobie. I'd like to buy this PiBot optical sensor, but I just don't quite know how to determine whether its compatible without modification.

Some other related information on it:

My board is a Melzi 2.0 1284P:

Can this one just be immediately swapped out with my inductive sensor (after some firmware changes probably). I'd be grateful for any guidance.

Thanks,

The pi bot for all its fanciness is just another mega/ramps all in one clone

So the PiBot optical sensor should work fine.

No idea if it can detect glass or not though...

Something tells me it depends on the glass.

Could someone tell me what the pin-out diagram means?
It says
+ 5v
(Ground symbol) Ground
↓ 64

I don't get what ↓64 is.

Its the IO pin they use on the pibot

from their firmware
#define PiBot_Z_PROBE_PIN  64   /////****PiBot use this pin as Z-Probing pin

↓ means active low
