Sintron Prusa i3 Z-axis

Dear all,

I am building my first printer, namely cheap Sintron i3 kit. It's assembled, the motors are runing, homing, etc. But I lack basic understanding of prusa i3 operation. X- and Y-axes with corresponding endstops are fine and clear. What about Z-Axis? Where endstop should be? Near bed or on the top? Or both endstops are used? I have it on top and guess it's wrong. If I loose steps I need recalibrate each time?

Thank you
Linas

Put the z-endstop to the bottom. Add an allen head screw to the x-carrier below the x-stepper, so you can easily adjust z-zero.

If you loose steps, find out why and chose the right countermeasures like:
reducing acceleration and/or speed,
reduce belt tension,
raising driver current,
reducing e-steps or
checking z-steps etc.

Thank you, looks like I did it wrong way and that's a reason I got stuck.
