Stumped - Flashing Firmware/Connecting to Printer
August 08, 2015 02:32PM
So I'm trying to get my printer up and running, I finished the wiring and assembly today and it's time to fire up the electronics and I'm running into a brick wall.

The Arduino doesn't show up in windows with the RAMPS board connected to it. If I disconnect the ramps I can flash it and see it in windows and have flashed firmware to it... but I can't figure out what's going on beyond that.

I'm not even sure where to look or what to search for... any help would be appreciated!

OK, I tracked this down to the 2nd extruder stepper driver socket... if I put a driver in there, the whole thing shuts down. If I leave it open, I can flash firmware and communicate normally...

However I'm unable to move my steppers... I'm getting temperature readings, I can make the extruder heat up, but no matter what I do none of my steppers will energize.
