How to Set Up Marlin

So I just downloaded Marlin and Arduino, but whenever I try to upload the sketch, I get this error. Any solutions would be great.

avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout
avrdude: ser_send(): write error: sorry no info avail
avrdude: stk500_send(): failed to send command to serial port
avrdude: ser_recv(): read error: The handle is invalid.


avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_getsync(): timeout communicating with programmer
the selected serial port avrdude: stk500v2_getsync(): timeout communicating with programmer
does not exist or your board is not connected

Check the com port and what board you have selected. (what controller do you have?)

Make sure only one application is trying to use the com port

If windows reboot your pc, as windows likes to hold com ports.

you may have to run the ardunio IDE as administrator
