Snooker Bot challenge?

It is 20 Years ago, when the Deep Blue Chess computer won against the raigning world champion Garry Kasparov.
Now the Snooker world championchip is on TV and I was wondering, if it would be possible to build a Snooker Bot able to play Snooker?
For me, Snooker is the best challenge to show the capabilities of robotics and KI.
I could imagine, with a sponsor and the right prize money, we could start a challenge between Top 16 Snooker players and Bot teams from Universities and Nerds ( like us
) from all over the world.
Any opinions?
