12 x 12 x 12 square frame?

Hello everyone. I've been really wanting a decent sized build volume printer with a square, possibly metal frame like the rigibot or something similar for a while now. I just can't really afford the 1k price tag. I was wondering if there's ano open source build somewhere that would run me a little cheaper if I source my own parts. Any ideas?

Are you talking about the print envelope or the whole machine being 12 x 12 x 12?

Build your own! Make a frame out of aluminum extrusion, like scrap 80/20 or something, and stick on a few rails and a leadscrew.
