Just jog the axis manually and level.
I had nothing but issues with that tool on my i3 also.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did so manually before I was able to connect my i3 to Cura. I just wanted to try it again with the leveling wizard to make sure. It also tried to print a large square but it the head was too close and the PLA didn't stick. I then noticed I have a problem with the extruder head not zeroing out on the bed.

When I auto home the coordinates are -5, -55, .8
The Z axis is the only one that goes to the right place. The X axis is too far to the left and the Y axis is really far back

Without knowing the shape of what you are trying to print its just a guess but i'm going to say maybe you are going too fast on the first layer for it to stick, or the bed still is not level.

I print my first layer in ABS at 10mm/sec to get good contact.

Also, don't overlap the tape. Put the edges up against each other.

Ok. I will make sure to fix that. And I am using PLA. So do I change the speed settings on the printer itself or would it be on Pronterface? I am pretty sure it's level all the sides measure the same.

Change the first layer speed in Cura.
Its under "advanced" and listed as bottom layer speed. 10-20 works good. nice and slow on the first layer.
Print stepping on y axis every time it goes up a layer

How do I fix this?

Make sure the pulleys aren't slipping on the motor shaft for X and Y, you may find one slipping. Tighten the grub screw.
Make sure the belts are tight, not too tight.
With the printer powered off, try to move the X and Y carriages by hand. They should slide smoothly and easily.
