Error Auto Bed Leveling "home X/Y before Z"
December 08, 2015 05:42AM
Hello everyone,

I'm having problems to implement Auto Bed Leveling. I'm using a home made, customised 3D-printer (double extruder) running a Marlin Firmware (v.1.1.0 RC 3) and a Repetier Host Software (v.1.6.0). For Zmin I'm using an inductive sensor (normally open) from Sick (IME08-04NPS-ZT0K) .

My problem is that the probing is not starting. As soon as I'm starting a print the X and Y axis are homing. Afterwards the print bed is moving under the extruder, where the sensor is mounted. Then the Z axis is homing. Now the probing should start, but nothing happens. I'm just getting an error message that says "home X/Y before Z". After a while (I think after a timeout) the printer is starting to print without having executed the G29.

Do you have an idea how I can get the Auto Bed Leveling running?

My Slicer's startcode (Slic3r) looks the following:
G28 ; home all axes
G29 ; Auto Level

I also tried (without any better result):
G28 X0 Y0
G29

In my log it's written the following:

Start by manually (with your hand) moving the X and Y axes toward the center of the bed, then run the following commands:

G28 X (should zero the X axis)
M114 (returns the current coordinates >> Should show X=0.00)

G28 X (should zero the Y axis)
M114 (returns the current coordinates >> Should show Y=0.00)

M119 (checks the status of all endstops >> Should show X and Y triggered and Z open)

Let me know what you find and we'll go from there...

I tried it out and the result is exactly what you've said.
