Sorry the crystal ball doesn’t work so well any more, how about some details?
Type of machine?, controller type? (pictures to identify the board type, if you don’t know)
If you connect up a computer with pronterface does it give any more information? (im guessing your reading a LCD)
As a pure guess I would say its probably looking at a temperature sensor and not reading a sane temp and stopping.
If they are thermistors pull the plug form the board and check their resistance from the plug threw the wires and threw the thermistor.
Most are 100K at around 25c
