First check if the board is recognized in the operating system, check what drivers you'll need. Look at the chips closest to the usb port and google the part numbers.
Download the firmware you want to use like marlin or repetier.
Download arduino studio and load the firmware. Choose the correct com port and board type and Configure for your board and features like sensors, fans, feedrate, steps per mm etc in the file configuration.h
You can also ask your suplier for the firmware and config settings.
program / upload the firmware. Test using pronterface or repetier host.
