X-Axis issues

So a few weeks ago i finally finished my reprap project - a self sourced Mendelmax 2-based reprap machine (ramps 1.4, drv8825 motor drivers and nema17 stepper motors.

I am able to print simple and fairly complicated oarts with no major issues but yesterday I stumbled upon something new.

In order to measure backlash I created the following part:

The Y Axis is working fine but the part was symmetrically displaced along the X axis:

I am using repetier FW with repetier host and Slic3r. Could this be a software error? I tried printing twice and the result was still the same.

Motor current is 1,4A (0,7V on the drv8825 pot)

What are your thoughts?

Once you've checked all mechanical parts and determined that nothing is slipping, turn down the acceleration and/or print slower.

I'm kinda embarassed to post this, but the pulley on the motor shaft was slightly loose. Tightened it. I am thinking of using threadlock on the small fixation screw on the pulley.

That's a good idea- motor shafts vibrate a lot in operation and things can shake loose.

You aren't the first person to have that problem and you won't be the last.
