On Thingiverse, I saw few belt-driven extruders. They use belts that are - somehow - circled. How they do it?

The standard shape of a timing belt is a loop. Flat lengths are actually pretty hard to find for some profiles.

Heaps on ebay, the code represents the internal size of belt. Here is an example:
