Ramps 1.4 with Max6675

Ramps 1.4 with Max6675

Hello,

I am building another reprap. (Yea!) And I am using one of those extruders off of ebay with a thermocouple. I bought a Max6675 board to go between the thermocouple and the ramps, but I cannot find what I am suppose to plug the Max6675 to on the Ramps 1.4.

Please help.

I saw that.

Unfortunately the Max6675 has 5 possible pins; GND, VCC,SO,CS,SCK.

I do not know what goes to what.

GND and VCC are the 0V and 5V connections. SO, CLK and SS go to the SPI interface on the mega. Google will turn up the specific pin numbers.

Well the trouble begins once you also have LCD...since SO/CLK and SS pins on Mega will already be taken...Then what!?

MISO, MOSI and CLK and shared between all devices on the SPI interface. The SS pins are used to activate each individual device. Marlin will use pin 53 for the MAX6675 SS if compiled with SD card support and pin 49 otherwise.

Thought so...but those pins are available only on one place on RAMPS right? So I would need to solder the thermocouple to lcd connector...

EDIT: I soldered additional pin header on top of LCD board, so I have access to shared pins.
