Hi, i want to start to build my first CNC(X-Y).

Can someone send me some guide or something i need to read before start projecting it?

I need informations about stepping motor electronics and mechanical guidance.

1) How i can do calculation to select the right motor to my use?

2) What type of power supply is better?

3) I need a control board or something in addition to arduino?(in addition to stepper drivers)

4) What program i should use to convert my CAD drawings to arduino commands? How this work? Can this program also set speed movements and regulate current to the cutter?

5) How can it be precise in moviments(mm steps)?

6) Can i recycling RAMPS 1.4 board to avoid to build a printed circuit board?
Can it be edited to use with a 2 axis cnc?
What are it's limits with power supply?

7) Where i can find mechanics informations?
Can i avoid to use worms(infinte screw)?

Thank you for your answers.

Um, your kinda vague on what your building, then you want specific answers. Try searching what exactly your building, and look at what others have done is probably your first move. Then search the parameters you listed and see what others have said/done that may apply to your project.

Some things to search and read up on CAM, GRBL, GCode, Stepper Motor, Stepper Driver, GCode Sender.

If you choose to go with RAMPS maybe this Link will help.

Good Luck...
