LCD is barely visible

Hello everyone , im kinda new here 
and im using RepRapDiscount Smart Controller
i uploaded the firmware and seems something is wrong
i can see the letters barely if i look front side, but if i turn the lcd and look from side ways it can be read. So can anyone help me with that issue ?

There may be a brightness potentiometer on your electronics mainboard or the LCD itself that needs adjusting for the proper contrast.....
Yes - it's most likely a small trimpot that you will need to use a screwdriver with.
If the picture below is your board, most likely it's the guy labeled R1:
