x axis jumping

Hi all
I'm a bit new to this so please bear with me.
I've just got my Prusa Mendel (iteration 2) to print but I am having an issue with the x axis, it seems to be jumping only a little, maybe 0.5mm as it prints but in both x+ and x- so I end up with a wavy print. I've tried
to minimise this by slowing down any rapid movements and changing the infill to liner 45deg (using slicr) but still getting the same effect.
Any input would be appreciated

are your belts tight ? can you twang them as if they are guitar strings ?

The x-axis is fairly tight but I should be able to get it tighter. thanks for the help and I hope this fixes the issue
