J-head thermistor problems
December 14, 2013 10:06AM
I just installed a new j-head. Every time I connect print run it says print error temp too high and it reads a temp of 750C even tho head is cold to the touch. I updated conffiguration.h to thermister 1 and uploaded in Marlin, no change, thermister 5, no change. These were the two I could find listed anywhere. Any better ideas than just going thru all of the thermistors listed one by one?

I just went thru all 10 thermistors listed in Marlin and none of them worked. Then I closely examined my thermister and it was shorting out on the head.... Duh.

Stick with thermistor 1 unless you know different (like the vendor let you know). Best to check with the vendor in case you thermistor is a bit odd.

Thanks, it's working well now that I corrected the shorting problem.
