Has anyone figured out you can use the springs from a mouse trap as a belt tensioner?

Dont really see a need for that, i use the stock tensioner on the Y and this thing, its not perfect as the screw sticks out and i have had it get stuck on wires that were overly sticking out.(not during prints though) Putting it on the carriage-side it would have to be upside down, i suppose since it doesnt need to be acessed much anyway, that'd be a good solution.(I think a best-of-both worlds design is possible..)

Yes I have and there are actually a few companies that sell them for like a quarter each. Pretty neat though and I'm always a fan for finding different uses for random things.

I've used a clothes pin spring before.

Oh, i am sure the spring is useful for many things.. But i dont want to buy things new, to take apart for parts.. unless second hand/scrap anyway.
