So in the Engineering Block Program at my high school my friend and I are building a larger CoreXY printer. Here's the first picture.

All I can say is that Aluminum Extrusion is a tank. This frame weighs 30 lbs right now, which is honestly lighter than I expected. Let me know if there's any major problems you see with the design.

It's definitely over-built- I don't think you need any of the corner braces or associated hardware, but hey, there's no kill like overkill.

You could add some brackets in the bottom horizontal plane. It has to be perfect 90°.

Yeah overkill was kind of the plan. We hit the jackpot, all of this material was in the shop already. We haven't bought a single part yet.

Yeah I probably should have said some stuff earlier.

Basically it's a CoreXY system with a belt driven Z Axis. Uses RAMPS 1.4 and a Full Graphic Display. Goals were extremely sturdy and reliable. I think the sturdy part has been achieved.
Entire system is enclosed, as it will stay in the school environment for hopefully a long while after I graduate.

This was a school project in my engineering block class.

I meant the wires guided through sheer metal. Better use a rubber grommet or some other insulation method.

Oh yeah that could be a problem. We figured it'd be ok because it's aluminum and they are fixed tight so hey can't move. It's supposed to eliminate the stress on the connections to the extruder.
