So I just finished getting this guy working. This is my second printer first is a i3 using the sgraber lasercut melamine frame.

The belt Z works, but is a giant pita. belt slips out of the catches doing long moves down the Z axies. Even reprinted it as the first one I printed was a bit iffy. Other than that it's prints are better than my i3 overall.
I didn't use 1.75mm filament with it as I had lots of 3mm filament. Did a Greg's Extruder with a bowden mount. 3mm is much tricker to get retraction and print temp right to prevent stringing. That and not using Slic3r. Slic3r and bowdens were not a very good combo for me. I use Slic3r exclusively on my i3

Couple of magnet vases from thingiverse I printed ( before I got things properly calibrated)

Going to make another smartcore based on the success some people have had with cheap 19mm alu square tubes. This one will use 1.75mm

Going to use a dual threaded rod Z this time with a heated bed.

Also because I'm insane I'm also making a 3DR

And another i3 variant called the Wilson TS

Should probably start another thread called "How to create a 3d Printer farm"
