Pause & Resume print with G-Code

I have searched the forums but cannot find an answer that works for me. I have an Ormerod 2 which is still running the original 1.09 firmware. I am trying to pause and resume a print using G-Code. I can get the print to pause using M226 or M25, however neither of these run pause.g and so the print head does not move out of the way. After the pause I want to be able to continue by using the "Resume" button on the web interface, this also does not work.

If I pause an existing print using the web interface, this works correctly and runs pause.g. The resume function also works correctly in this case.

Am I missing something, or is it because I am still using the original firmware?

Upgrade to recent firmware, then ask again if you still can't get it to work.
