Large gear / small gear DXF in Ormerod 528.4

What is the purpose of the "large gear" and "small gear" DXF files found in the Ormerod repo? These ones:

[github.com]

They look a bit like the extruder gears, but after loading them in InkScape I can't see how they'd fit onto the motor. Are they suitable for use with 5mm aluminium?
