I will get there !

After several attempts i have finally printed something that kinda resembles a snowman !

The problem i can see is that at the end of every straight line there is a "blob" ..... Any ideas why ?

cheers H

Hi hughesie,

congrats to your first print!

A picture would be nice to see what could be the cause of the blobs.
Did you print from Pronterface via USB or from SD card? Printing from USB seems slow and gives a blobby snowman.

Looks pretty bad although I don't think its meant to be a precise engineered snowman i.e. its meant to look like snow refer attached pic for my first attempt.

The extrusions ignoring the blobs look too thin to me, did you calibrate the extruder drive.

If you look at the snowman.g code with notepad++ at the beginning of the file are all the basic print parameters this may give you a clue
as to where your machine is not responding correctly.

You can try running the Snowman G code by sending M codes as follows:

M20 ; lists g files which are on the SD card
M23 snowman.g ; selects snowman.g
M24 ; start SD print

An explanation of G and M codes is in the Reprap Wiki.

Hi hughesie,

the blobs are typical for printing from USB (data transfer might be either too slow or corrupted?). Try printing from the SD card like nitra900 suggested. If you can't read the sd card it may be that the supplied card won't work as many other users reported. Try reading it (command M503 or with Pronterface) and if it fails try any other (brand) sd card which should work.

Also check your extruder drive calibration and I would suggest check bed plane levelling too.
