E3D Titan Extruder on Mendel90

Has anyone here mounted a E3D Titan extruder to their Mendel90?

If so it would be nice to hear experiences and to se photos of how you mounted it.

So I finally managed to get the Titan mounted on my Mendel90. It took three version of the holder :-)

Now I am trying to figure ot the E-step settings and how hard to tighten the tensioner for PLA.

The E-steps should in theory be easy as E3D writes in their instructions that it is 417.
But that overextrudes quite a bit. So it is calibration time.

As for spring tension on the idler roller, does anyone have any advise?

Now I am really confused.

It does not matter what value I put in "#define E_STEPS_PER_MM" It extrudes the same length all the time.......

Can someone point me in the right direction here, I do not understand whats going on?

If you're using Marlin with the EEPROM enabled, you need to send a M502, followed by a M500 to update the EEPROM to the new settings. Marlin defaults to what's in the EEPROM.

Doh!

Thank you Stephenrc!

That goes to show how often I calibrate my printer. Had totally forgot that I enabled eeprom when installing Paneloulo2.

Now for some interesting testing with the E3D Titan.

I will follow up with pictures of my mounting as I ended up doing my own solution.

I wanted the lid of the Titan facing the front but it required major surgery of the frame.

I put my titan sideways.



The part to the right is removable to get the lid of the titan.
X-carriage is original and also the holder for the little break out board and D-sub connector. The part that on the original mendel 90 bolted to the end of the extruder motor was reused.
