e3dv6 help
March 13, 2016 11:01AM
hi all
first post so bear with me lol
i brought a fully working mendel90 all setup and ready to go (which means i have no idea how to fix it )
i have been using it for a year with no problems at all
then i got my first nozzle jam so i got a e3dv6
i have kinda got it screwed in with the 3 washers at a 45 degree angle (I'm hoping this will do till i can print out another with more depth to the hole it sits in or print a bowden is it indirect extruder)
i have got to wire the hottend fan to be on all the time
i need to change the thermistor settings some where
and change the nozzle height somewhere i assume
i think thats it although I'm not really sure
i have searched the net and this forum for a guide but could not find something i can follow

any help at all would be greatly appreciated
thankyou

i brought a fully working mendel90 all setup and ready to go (which means i have no idea how to fix it )
- manual: [github.com]

i have kinda got it screwed in with the 3 washers at a 45 degree angle (I'm hoping this will do till i can print out another with more depth to the hole it sits in or print a bowden is it indirect extruder)
- mine sits flush without the screws at an angle, i had to use a ball head hex wrench. This should be a firm fit

i have got to wire the hottend fan to be on all the time
- permanent ground and 12v can be found off of the melzi connectors: [github.com]

i need to change the thermistor settings some where
- this is in configuration.h and will need a firmware rebuild

and change the nozzle height somewhere i assume
- again, this is in configuration.h

the e3dv6 hot end needs more depth to fit flush
if i try to drill it and mess it up i won't be able to print another
thanks for the reply i will carry on trying

No E3D V6 needs less depth than a J Head Mk5B, not more. The normal solution is to put an M8 washer under it to pack it pack it out. You must have something else.

I think you must have the Bowden version instead of the direct version. It should look like this: [e3d-online.com]

as far as i am aware e3d-v6 only has a blue fan duct, i have never seen one with a red duct.

E3D mounts red fan duct on V6 Lite version.
