Hi guys,
I recently saw this very interesting filament and I wanted to buy a sample immediately: [colorfabb.com]
But this

CARBON FIBER IS ABRASIVE
worrys me somehow, as I don´t know, what the MKV-B which was in my M90-kit (I bought it last Year and im very happy that I got one winking smiley) is made of.
So can i print this without the risk of ruining my hotend (I really love it as it is really small and complete maintenance-free) ?
Thanks for your advice,
best Regards,
Jonas

Hi,

The J-Head nozzle is made from brass. Carbon fibre is indeed abrasive and usage could enlarge the nozzle aperture.

E3D have recently introduced hardened steel nozzles designed for printing abrasive materials produced by the likes of Colorfabb. I think I would be inclined to use one of their hotends with a steel nozzle if I were to print significant quantities of the material.
