I was looking at the new Makerbot v5 and saw that the smart extruder has a filament-out sensor that pauses the print.
Could we do such thing in the Firmware, or the host ?
For instance by guiding the filament through a light barrier which gives a 'high' signal to any pin at the ramps (or Arduino) when the light comes through due to filament out,
after which the firmware, or the host program issues a Pause ?
Pause, with the hotend at the home position can last forever, giving time to change filament and resume...... Maybe use an unused end-stop for this ?
