Plater bug?
December 27, 2017 09:37AM
Hello,

I have a delta printer with a build plate diameter 290.
When I try to load Kap_Retibo_orig.stl, slic3s says it's too big for the buildplate.
When I load Kap_Retibo.stl (I addad a circle around it) everything is going fine.

Is this normal?

Regards,

Steve

Interesting... Do you have a skirt or brim around the original part but not around the altered one?

Hi,

I was able to solve it, just be creative ...

But I found it funny and interesting.
Brim / skirt / or nothing didn't make a difference.
One important thing, I couldn't move it by hand....

Maybe it's a bug, maybe not. It's something I wanted to tell you.

The auto-center function is not based on the maximum limits of the part. For something that's not symmetrical and so close to the build plate size it matters and you will need to turn off auto-center and align it manually. I think the setting is in one of the first couple of menus but don't have the software in front of me.
