Gcode missing 2 layers?

Gcode missing 2 layers?
October 17, 2016 09:08PM
This is weird. I'm pringing out this and I notice that it seems to have skipped a couple layers. It looks fine when I see the model in the preview. I'm using the settings from prusa i3 installer. It works fine with everything else. The missing layers are between 23.35-23.55. The stl and gcode are here. Any ideas?

The gcode actually lack any printing instructions at the mentioned layers.

It might be a slic3r bug or your stl is not ready for printing, try to use a stl repair feature - google it, netfabb comes to my mind - of some sort and try again.
Maybe use a gcode preview before printing to avoid waisting your time and filament - Repetier Host does this.

BTW did you just post a d**k pic ?!? spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Most of my technical comments should be correct, but is THIS one ?
Anyway, as a rule of thumb, always double check what people write.

One cause for the missing layers is the filament jamming up on the spool.

Hy there.

Yeap, it happens.
Happened to me in 2014, I posted in the below link the details (try google translate).
It was a slic3r bug but it happened only in that occasion.

It can't be the extruder because.. it should not recover from skipping layers.

just try another slicer :-)

The layer is missing inside your G-code. The same shall be visible in the G-code preview of Slic3r.

Slic3r has issues with what it considers as an error in the model. The model may have errors, but sometimes Slic3r classifies a correct model as errorneous. I am currently looking into this Slic3r issue.
