I'm trying to do some experiment with 16 colors. It looks like from Slic3r is not possible to assign 16 different extruders (but maybe I don't know very well the sw).
So to do that I need to load on Slic3r all the 16 parts, put together, than export the assbly to amf.
Load the assembly .amf to Repetier-host , assign at every subpart a different extruder (here I can have 16 extruders) and the from Repetier-host run Slic3r.
It is a very long process, Is there a way to assign 16 extruders directly from Slic3r?
What I want to do is print with 16 colors the Benchy Boat [www.thingiverse.com]
Another problem I have it that the part "3DBenchy_-_Multi-part_-_Single_-_Hull_-_3DBenchy.com.stl" for Slic3r it's not a manifold object. All the other slicing sw I tested (Cura, Kisslicer) don't have any problem with this part. very strange....

Not yet. I'm finishing the "upgrade" . I projected the HOTEND and I'm waiting that the supplier will build it. See the prototype in ABS.
But this is a 4 filament extruder printer. I will mix the Cyano , Magenta and Yellow + Black or White to have the other colors.
The 16 extruders in Slic3r , are 16 virtual extruders. You can print with virtual extruder using repetier fw.
Here instead, you can see my printer doing some other "experiment" with a "parallel Printing"
Yes. I'm able to create 16 Extruders, but after I cananot assigne more than 5.

See image 2 where I try to assigne at each part a different Extruder. I can choose only 1 to 4.
Maybe this is the wrong way to do ... Is there a correct way to manage 16 extruders?
