Slic3r bridging paramters with 0.25 mm Nozzle
September 01, 2015 04:14PM
I have been working with a Type A Machines Series 1 printer and recently bought a 0.25 mm nozzle from Makergear. I am working on printing a mesh-like object with fiber diameters less than 0.2 mm. After about a week of working out the bed height, speed, extrusion width, and height for the first layer of my object, I have finally gotten a quality, reproducible first layer. I am now focusing on the bridging parameters to produces the following layers. However, I have had no luck at all. I have varied the bridge speed and bridge flow ratio and tried using the fan with no success. Is there any advice anyone can give me with regards to bridging with small nozzles.

Slic3r should automatically set the extrusion width to the nozzle width for the bridges.
I'd keep the flow ratio at 1 and just go slow, with cooling.
Not sure what speed you were running right now though, but try going down to like 20 mm/s or so even.
If they still break, increase the flow ratio.
