Is Slic3r v 1.2.9 bridging algorithm broken?

I'm new to 3D printing. Now I try to tune my printer by printing different models and I see a lot of cases when ends of bridges produced by Slic3r are hanging. It seems the Slic3r bridging algorithm does not always take into account real threads of plasic deposited in the previous layer. So the bridge end can easily lie over the void of infill. Look at this model [www.thingiverse.com] with 20% honeycomb infill and 0.3 mm layers at 5.4 mm height. What do you think?

Surely all bridging will terminate at a perimeter rather than infill?

Not IRL as I can see. This too big round bridge around a hole in the center terminates over the infill. There is a similar bridge on the opposite side of the roller terminated over the infill too.
