converting slic3r settings from linux to windows
June 22, 2015 01:08PM
hi,

i was using Slic3r on linux until i started getting the "[xcb] Unknown sequence number while processing queue" error(s), which rendered Slic3r unusable on Ubuntu.

so i installed Slic3r on a Win7 VMware guest machine, and it runs fine.

now i'd like to convert all of my Slic3r settings on Linux to Windows, so i don't have to re-enter all of them manually.

anyone have any ideas? are all of the Windows Slic3r settings in the Registry?

thanks in advance for any and all info!

I don't have a machine in front of me right now, but no, those settings are not in the registry. They're in .ini files stored somewhere in the C:\Documents and Settings\AppData tree, unless I mis-remember. You'll probably have to set it to show hidden files and folders if you haven't already.

So update on Linux and don't throw yourself into the cesspool of Windows? Seems like a far easier solution from here . . . and as a Linux user, I have *NEVER* seen an error from Slic3r, FWIW . . .

Looks like I was thinking of the legacy directory structure, or mixing it with the current one. In 7 and 8 the path is C:\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\Slic3r
