FAN starts and stops too early
June 19, 2015 08:22AM
Hi again, my second topic now smiling smiley

I have another problem with the FAN which I want to discuss in a second topic (I hope its OK).

The problem: The printer seems to start and stop the fan too early. Its about 12 filament-lines or gcode-lines it is starting too early or stops too early, which can result in broken or sagging bridges. I can't say if it is the printers fault or from slic3r. Is it posible to delay those FAN-Commands somehow in slic3r?

Greetings and thanks in advance

This sounds like a printer firmware fault - the firmware is changing the fan speed immediately the command enters the input buffer instead of waiting for all the moves to complete. Maybe check on your printer's forum to see whether there are any firmware updates available.

To verify that that is indeed what is happening, check the G-code with a text editor and verify that Slic3r has changed the fan speed at the correct places.
