Problem Slicing Own File
February 08, 2015 11:30AM
I have made a rook in Sketchup and saved it as an stl file. It shows in Repetier fine. Once in Slic3r, I hit the slice button and it changes the rook into a large single layered circle and says it will take 6 seconds to print. I have run it through netfabb and tried it again, same problem. I have added the stl file I received off of netfabb. I do not know what I did wrong for this to happen. I tried loading another file downloaded from thingiverse and it seemed to slice it just fine. Thank you for your help.

The problem is the size - it's only 2mm high!

I suspect the design is in inches, but Slic3r works with mm. After importing into Slic3r, click on the "scale" button (in Plater) and set the scale to 2540% and it will probably slice as you intend. I have not used Sketchup, but you could probably convert your design to mm in that as well.
