I'm testing out support material with Slic3r, Cura, Meshmixer recently for overhangs
Would like to know if Slic3r has settings for X/Y gap and Z gap between perimeters.
Slic3r
Support material is the easiest to remove, but the gap between Outer perimeters and support material in Z axis is too far (around 1mm gap).
This causes the first or lowest point of the overhangs to be sagging around 1mm lower in the Z axis,
from this spot the layers above will also sag by a small fraction
I still not able to find the settings for X/Y gap between perimeters, and Z gap between perimeters
Cura
There are settings for X/Y gap and Z gap between perimeters, but I still need some time to calibrate this gap.
The support material is sticking too tightly to the perimeter in my first few prints.
There is some sagging in the overhang area, but not as much as Slic3r model.
Meshmixer
No sagging, good tight overhang layer, but the support material (the spots) are sticking too tightly to the perimeter
Causes a lot of pimple spots on the surface of the print.
But the overhang layers are great.
