Support - anyone done the lion at thin layers yet?

I had a go at doing the lion (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7930) at .05 layerheight with support, this time the support was actually THERE which was great, unfortunately it was to small (just a single dot of extrusion) to be useful and came off the build plate after only a few layers.

anyone else played with support yet?

I did two plastic holders for a kitchen system with support. I used PLA and a glass plate.
The first print did not work, the support did not cool fast enough, and yes, it's very thin. In the second print I did two pieces at the same time and used a fan for cooling, this worked well enough. I don't know if the thing would work on a much bigger model, though.

Image of the holders attached, the round parts needed support.

I suspect support needs to have some sort of 1 in 4 slope calculated into it or something.

I printed it at 0.20 mm layer height in yellow PLA without support. It came out great. Post some pictures when you figure out the supper small layer height.
