Bridging

Hello,

I am new to 3D printing and I would like to learn more about the bridging that occurs when an object is printed. I am trying to print two cylinders connected at the top with the rest of the cylinders hollow and completely separate from eachother. After slicing my file I see a connecting point all the way up the cylinder which I think is a bridge. My questions are, is the bridging necessary or can this be adjusted in slic3r and can the bridges be easily removed when the print is completed. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I have attached a image of the connection I am speaking about.

Chris

As Sublime said, green lines in Pronterface preview are travel moves. No extrusion happens there.
