There are two places in slic3r where you have to change the new nozzle diameter
1) under Printer_settings / Extruder_1
2) under Print_settings in the advanced section

Also you have to check your Z-height after homing, if it is still the same.

The E steps were way out so sorted that (Was getting 12mm filament for expected 5mm) then started printing ok after a few minutes this happened.

I had to strip the hot end down then heat it up like you see now to temp (I hung it over the threaded bar and held the hot end with pliers whilst I slowly pulled the filament backwards.) I reset it started ok again then blocked after a few minutes again.

This is driving me nuts what could be causing this?

The hot end is brand new do I need a new throat?

Thanks for the reply I found the one under printer settings but not in print settings in the advanced section.

Did you assemble the nozzle and throat correctly?

1) clean both collars and check if the contact area between them is clean and flat
2) screw in the nozzle fully, then turn it backwards 1/2 turn or so.
3) screw in the throat until it meets the nozzle
4) heat up the assembly, hold the housing with a plier and tighten the nozzle

Now you have a gap-free installation that doesn't clog so easily.

Thanks O lampe that worked no more blockages but the printer developed more issues lol, a nema 17 has packed up now (We have checked both the ramps + Steppers and rewired the motor multiple times it's internal to the motor) and my belt broke on the x axis so I've snapped today and ordered 2 new nema 17's (So I have a spare), 2 350mm leads screws for the z axis and a laser cut ply frame for a prusa going to convert my mendel over and add autoleveling at the same time. It seems my smooth rods are too long so will have to have a think how to cut them down. I've always had an issue on the z with that motor so I'm not surprised it's gone dodgy I guess the internal connections are loose can you strip nema's? I tired taking the bottom 4 screws out but nothing happened but it was still mounted with the top screws.

Hopefully after I rebuild it I might actually get a good print winking smiley

I bought this frame
[www.ebay.co.uk]
as I have an ATX Power supply so seemed a nice neat solution.

Need to order myself an aluminium mk3 heated bed as my mk2 heated bed takes almost 15 mins to reach 110c which is very annoying, especially when you're trying to configure the printer.
